The formation of the Trans-Atlantic Parliamentary Group on Counter Jihadi Terrorism (TAG) is a bench mark achievement by a number of pioneering legislators from Europe and the United States. Since the rise of terror campaigns worldwide against democracies on 9/11 in America, 3/11 in Madrid, 7/7 in London, as well as in Beslan, Russia on 9/1 and in Mumbai on 11/26; and as these campaigns have also targeted Muslim and Middle Eastern civil societies as in Pakistan, Lebanon, Iraq, Afghanistan, Israel and other countries; a group of members of the US Congress and the European Parliament became conscious of the global dimension of this threat and of the ideological roots behind it. The Secretariat General of the TAG is tasked with coordination and management of the Group. It includes not restrictively:

1. Preparing for general and specific meetings of the Group.
2. Preparing the agenda
3. Following up on resolutions and recommendations
4. Preparing for the Press Releases
5. Establishing communications and contacts with institutions, NGOs and experts
6. Managing the web site.
7. Receiving the requests for memberships and submit them to the Group (more)
